Safety regulations
Information regarding safety at SciFest. Important things you as a participant must know about your stand and equipment, chemicals, transport, which electrical regulations apply and procedures in the event of a fire alarm, accident and evacuation.
Chemicals/electrical regulations
Gases - Liquids - Chemicals
All use of chemicals must be reported to SciFest (name, quantity, risk analysis).
No flammable, corrosive or toxic chemicals / gases may be introduced or stored in Fyrishov's premises without written permission. Ethanol may only be stored in a quantity of 0.5 l at a time in the stand. Quantities above this must be stored outside the premises.
When exhibiting vehicles or machines, they must have an empty tank (ie a maximum of 5 liters of fuel) and a lockable tank cap. Car batteries has to be disconnected.
The exhibitor may under no circumstances leave chemicals unattended during the opening hours of the event.
Explosive or pyrotechnic articles are not permitted inside the showroom.
Electrical regulations
Power stations must not be blocked. Electrical connections to the showroom's fixed installations must be carried out by a supplier hired by SciFest. The exhibitor has three electrical outlets at each activity at his/hers disposal. SciFest/Fyrishov has the right to remove unapproved electrical equipment.
Transport of goods
Joint transport of goods (arranged by SciFest for university-affiliated exhibitors) takes place 8 October and 11 October.
Information with more details come closer to the event.
Stand and equipment
Liability in the event of theft or accident
The exhibiting researcher / company is responsible for all the equipment/goods brought to the stand or the room by the exhibitor. Leased equipment from Fyrishov, Scenteknik or Workman is the responsibility of the exhibiting researcher / company and the customer of the equipment, until the supplier's staff has received the equipment from the stand.
Speakers / sounds
Do not use speakers in a way that disturbs other exhibitors. Machines in the stand, with disturbing noise, may need to be switched off if they disturb other exhibitors too much.
Empty packaging
Empty packaging, such as cardboards, should not be stored in the stand, but stored at designated places or in your own car.
Cleaning after SciFest
Only furniture’s should be left when the exhibitor is leaving the activity space. Signs and other things mounted to the walls must be dismantled, including strings and wires. Remove major debris and tape from the floors. Garbage must be stored or disposed of in designated places. The exhibitor is responsible for this.
Fire alarm/accident/evacuation
Fire/Accident
If an emergency fire / accident occurs.
1. SAVE yourself and other people who are in danger and evacuate the premises in the safest way away from the danger. (Do not move an injured person unless you have to.)
2. WARN the environment about what has happened and ask for help.
3. ALARM - automatically trigger a fire alarm via alarm button and/or call 112 and answer the SOS operator's questions.
4. EXTINGUISH if you can, with fire extinguisher. Close the doors to the fire to limit spread.
Fire alarm
All rooms have automatic fire alarms. All forms of smoke (smoke machine, smoking, pyrotechnics, welding, sparklers, etc.) are prohibited indoors. All forms of flammable liquid (eg ethanol) or open flame / flame must be approved by SciFest project management.
Safety/emergency exits
It is not permitted to block escape routes or obscure emergency exit signs, escape doors, fire tools and alarm pushbuttons. This applies both inside and outside the door.
At the start of SciFest, identify where the nearest emergency exit (green signs), and fire extinguishers are located and how they work. The entire width of the emergency exit must be free at least 5 meters forward. If objects are placed outside the installation surface, it must be approved by the SciFest project management, as the width of the aisle will be reduced and the escape route will be narrower.
Evacuation/Recollection space
In the event of a fire alarm (bells ringing) or an accident, the premises must be evacuated via the emergency exits, or if possible, the entrance. A voice from the speaker system instructs visitors while SciFest officials lead the evacuation.
The gathering space for guests and exhibitors is in the parking lot outside SciFest main entrance. No one may enter the building / premises until the fire brigade or staff from Fyrishov have approved this.
