SciFest 2021: 1-6 march

The corona pandemic has led society to switch to digital solutions. Due to the uncertainty in the possibility of gathering large groups of people, SciFest 2021 is also changing and becoming a digital event.

SciFest is, as the name suggests, a science festival, and it covers all disciplines; from natural science, technology, medicine, pharmacy to humanities and social sciences. Researchers, teachers and students come together with other exhibitors such as high schools and companies, to provide a three-day educational experience including interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities, scientific shows, and engaging scientific lectures. SciFest invites pupils, teachers and the general public to experience some hands-on research and science.

The goal of the festival is to show the visitors the many aspects of research and science, and to make them interested in learning more about the different subjects, be it programming, psychology, chemistry, anthropology etc.

SciFest consists of a large variety of activities. The quintessence of SciFest is the bookable workshops. During Thursday and Friday, teachers can book workshops for their classes, and the workshops are held by researchers from Uppsala University and SLU, company representatives or senior high school students.

There are also a lot of non-stop activities at SciFest, where visitors are welcome to stop by without any advance booking. On Saturday however, all activities are non-reservable and open for all.
